Green River, Gates of Lodore to Split Mountain, Dinosaur National Monument / Oct 14-18 / 44 mi

101414 - Gates of Lodore Campground, the night before Launch Day. We were the only ones at the campground, and ended up settling into Site 15 for the evening.

Day 1, 101515 - Launch Day! Woke up to catch the sunrise over camp, then assembled and packed the boats and started down the Green River through the Gates of Lodore. Stopped briefly at Winnies Grotto for lunch and a stroll, then soon after called it an early day due to a super windy afternoon in the canyon.

Day 2, 101614 - Our second day on the river led us down Upper and Lower Disaster Falls, Harp Falls, Triplet Falls and Hell's Half Mile, then over to Rippling Brook Campsite. Not a bad way to spend my 31st birthday at all.

Day 3, 101614 - Started the day off with a post-breakfast hike up to the waterfall behind our campsite, then headed back on the river. Passed through Echo Park by Steamboat Rock at the Yampa confluence, then continued into Whirlpool Canyon. Crossed the CO/UT state line, and camped for the evening at Jones Hole

Day 4, 101814 - Our last day on the river took us through Island Park and Rainbow Park and into Split Mountain Canyon. After Moonshine, S.O.B., Schoolboy and Inglesby Rapids, a quick stop for lunch and some bighorn sheep sightings, our trip came to an end at the Split Mountain takeout.
