Grand CANYON  December 2016 - January 2017

DEC 18 2016 - JAN 8 2017 / 22 DAYS & 22 NIGHTS / 280 RIVER MILES / 10 PEOPLE, 6 BOATS

The wonders of the Grand Canyon cannot be adequately represented in symbols of speech, nor by speech itself. The resources of the graphic art are taxed beyond their powers in attempting to portray its features. Language and illustration combined must fail.

- John Wesley Powell

The rivers flow not past, but through us, thrilling, tingling, vibrating every fiber and cell of the substance of our bodies, making them glide and sing.

- John Muir

With the exception of the first night spent freezing at Lee's Ferry, we lucked out with moderate temperatures and only a bit of rain/snow.  A big "Thank You!" is owed to D&G, who were exceptional champs about cooking breakfast (...and lunch...and dinner...) in the rain.
